More than just a memory

This festival was the long-time dream of Dean "Dino" Gangale; a lover of movies in general, and an advocate for the independent filmmaker. Through HuuuH? The podcast he got to share his love of films and get the names of some great people out there. He wanted more though, especially for the community of Newberry. Unfortunately, while still in the brainstorming stage, Dino passed away suddenly. I am his wife, Michele. As I was talking with my son about how to handle the anniversary of his passing, we felt there was no better way than to keep his dream alive. When we started our journey to bring this to life, we were simply amazed by the love and support we received that has brought us to this place.
MTD Film Festival
The More Than Decent Film Festival is a three-day event in which the work of many independent filmmakers from Newberry and beyond get a chance to show their hard work, their labors of love if you will. And of course, is it a great experience for those who come and watch these films.
In April 2022, The More Than Decent Film Festival will premiere. The films that will be screened at this event include shorts and features from every genre. We even added a student submission portion to the festival to hopefully help foster the love of film in our youth!
